Turn A Gundam’s 20th Anniversary: A Reflection

Turn A Gundam began airing on the 9th of April 1999. Directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino, it celebrated the Gundam franchise’s 20th anniversary as part of Sunrise’s “Big Bang Project”. It has been twenty years since then. To commemorate Turn A Gundam‘s own 20th anniversary, I’d like to reflect on its significance and offer some reasons why I think it’s an anime worth checking out!

Note: this post is relatively spoiler-free.

Turn A Gundam Volume 1, Chapter 5 – “Each Individual’s Intents” + Character Profiles

Chapter 5 of volume 1 of the Turn A Gundam manga adaptation by Atsushi Souga. We’ve also translated the character profiles that are at the end of the volume. And with this, we’ve finished scanlating the entirety of the first volume. That means we’re a fifth of the way through!

New Project: The Atsushi Souga Turn A Gundam Manga Adaptation

Big news! Today I’m announcing our intent to scanlate the entirety of the Atsushi Souga manga adaptation of Turn A Gundam! It is a manga written and illustrated by Atsushi Souga and loosely(?) follows the events of the TV series. Think of it as a standard by-the-books adaptation with its own flair.
